Hundertwasser's comment on the work
Spiralriver Hand
The hand which opens upwards symbolises the circle of the water from our sky to the earth and back again. The open hand receives and gives at the same time. The spiral on the palm of the hand stands for our line of life, the creative growth of life. The open hand is a gesture of the reconciliation of man with nature. Water, the way you are flowing is always right.
