Hundertwasser's comment on the work

This floor plan was actually my first architectural drawing, on a precise scale, measured out by the centimeter. After the war I looked in vain for this and the following drawings in our air-raid shelter in the coal cellar, where we spent our time during the air raids and the invasion of the Red Army.(from: Hundertwasser 1928-2000, Catalogue Raisonné, Vol. 2, Taschen, Cologne, 2002, p. 72)
